DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to bring our Queer Family Playdates into 2026! These playdates were a sweet opportunity for queer families to connect in a safe and affirming place\, something we know is deeply needed in today’s climate. \nMoving into 2026 we will be moving the playdates to 11am! We are also in need of facilitators to “host” the playdates on the occasions where our board chair Elena isn’t available. Hosting includes getting to the playdate a little early to greet people and opening/closing the space. \nPlaydates happen the first Saturday of each month. DESCRIPTION:Zachary Ryan with AKUPARA Yoga is excited to launch a new LGBTQ+ offering called QueerFlow every Tuesday at 6 PM. We will meet at Lemon Tree Embodiment Studio\, at 709 S 17th Street in Wilmington.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach QueerFlow will be unique and gentle to the body\, all levels of yoga are welcome. Led by queer yoga instructor\, Zachary Ryan\, he will begin each class with a thoughtful meditation\, queuing each person through gentle poses while recalling the original intention of your own personal practice. If desired\, the class will end with hands-on assists to help you drop into your body.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs queer people we are taught to escape our bodies from an early age\, but in this class\, we will discover how our bodies are the safest places to be. These yoga sessions will be gentle to your body\, focusing on mindful movements and somatic practices to release old wounds of coming out\, cultivate self-love for past\, present\, and future versions of yourself\, and find strength and grounding in the most unexpected places.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease bring a mat and reserve your space. Classes are offered with a $5 donation\, but the availability of this space is highest priority. Use code QUEERLOVE to waive the $5 donation.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll are welcome on the mat because you deserve a life that is as free + unbounded as the ocean.

DESCRIPTION:The rainbow flag we celebrate with pride has always found its home inside your subtle body. \nAccording to the yoga system\, the body has seven main energy centers named chakras. These energy centers have the capacity to flow as free + unbounded structures\, leading to deep connection to both the sacred + mundane. However for queer people\, the structures of colonization\, heteronormative ideology\, religious indoctrination\, + systems of oppression often suppress these core centers. \nThe path of the yogi is one of deep responsibility to our own undoing. \nIn this seven-week series\, we will tap into the intelligence of our sacred chakras as practical guides in this undoing. Through a journey of blending yoga philosophy + queer theory\, we will embrace a personal path toward liberation. \nJoin us on Tuesdays for the next seven weeks at 6 PM. We will meet in the heart of the Cargo District in Wilmington\, NC\, at Lemon Tree Embodiment Studio—look for the yellow door.
