Antoni Sustaita
My name is Antoni Sustaita, resident of Leland, NC for just 2 years, however a long time resident from Chapel Hill for the last 28 years.  I am bilingual and am very proud of my Mexican/Spanish heritage.  Originally from San Juan, Texas, I moved to Atlanta Georgia as a teenager with the family.  My introduction into the restaurant business started immediately upon our arrival to Atlanta.  My mom opened the first of two locations and these restaurants become my training wheels. At one time, I was owner/partner in 8 restaurant locations all in the triangle area of North Carolina.  I originally “retired” to the Wilmington area but quickly realized that retirement is not for me.  I volunteered to be the Meetup coordinator for SAGE (now OWLS).  Am actively involved in my neighborhood with both the Culinary Club and the Social Activites Club.  I serve as the primaryadvisory  rep to the board for my district. I also just recently studied for and received my Real Estate brokers license and have joined Coastal Properties.   I have always been active in community service.  It started with being heavily involved with the PTA and Booster club of my son’s elementary, juinio and high school.  I was president of my HOA for five years and also served on the board of RDUMFA  (food truck association in the triangle) for three years.  I served as board member for 2 years and VP  for one year. I have great experience in fund raising, organizing festivals and food truck rodeos.
I am excited to be elected to the board of the LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast.  Wilmington will be my forever home and I am looking forward to working with the LGBTQ community.  I am sure that my previous life experiences will be an asset to me in this new position.
