Virginia Hager

Ms. Hager has served on the Center’s Board of Directors for ten years, and was elected Board Chair in June 2019. She earned her law degree at The College of William and Mary in 1984, and practiced with Legal Aid in Ohio and Kentucky before moving to Wilmington in 1990. She established her own firm in 1995, and limits her practice to divorce, custody, and other family law matters. Ms. Hager has successfully represented gay or lesbian parents in custody, adoptions, and other family law matters, as well as LGBTQ persons seeking to protect their family relationships.

Ms. Hager is a long-time member of St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she enjoys singing in the choir. For several years she has supported LGBTQ advocacy work in the Presbyterian Church (USA) to promote greater understanding and inclusion of LGBTQ Christians within the church and support for marriage equality. She is a member of the Pauli Murray LGBTQ+ Bar Association and has served as a volunteer cooperating attorney with Lambda Legal (www.lambdalegal.org).
