Hi! I’m Amber Woodard (she/her). I am a nurse, photographer, wife, and mom.  Much of my time is spent at Novant Health NHRMC, where I work to help improve care quality and value for our community and also co-lead efforts around inclusion and support for our LGBTQ+ team members and patients. Outside of work, you can usually find me wandering around with a camera in hand documenting the lives of the people I love, at the beach, or camping with my wife and little ones. I feel fortunate that I am able to live and love publicly as a LGBTQ+ identifying person, though I recognize this is a privilege that many in our community still do not experience.

Professionally, I am committed to ensuring queer visibility and representation in healthcare and reducing disparities in access to care for the LGBTQ+ community, especially for those who intersect with other vulnerable and disenfranchised groups. Personally, I am honored to serve the LGBTQ+ community of the Cape Fear coast alongside a group of amazing, passionate people who embody Frank Harr’s spirit and legacy.
