Operations & Program Coordinator 

Reports to: Executive Director

Status: Non-Exempt part time; 20 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $20.00/hour

Probation: 30 days

 

Job Summary:

The Programming Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for programs and administrative tasks related to the LGBTQ Center’s business activities and programs.

 

Schedule: The schedule for this position is variable and will require some weekends and evenings to accommodate LGBTQ Center programs. 

 

Work Environment:

The LGBTQ Center is a do-it-yourself, start-up type of environment experiencing rapid growth. You will need the ability to work well independently, within a cross-functional environment, and with diverse communities. We are looking for someone who is comfortable asking questions, taking initiative, and learning as we grow! 

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interact with the community and our members at the Center to create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment, 
  • Staff LGBTQ Center events, tabling opportunities, and programs;
  • Ensure a timely response to phone messages and emails received at the Center;
  • Update and maintain the Center website and social media accounts;
  • General filing and organization, ordering supplies, ensuring the Center is fully stocked for all programs;
  • Other duties as required. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability, desire, and commitment to work and identify with LGBTQ+ communities of varying socioeconomic classes, identities, and racial/ethnic backgrounds;
  • Outgoing personality with high level of comfort meeting new people, engaging in social situations, and working in collaboration with others;
  • Strong attention to detail, great follow-through, and fantastic communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision as well as be part of a team;
  • Knowledge and familiarity with MS Word, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, MailChimp, Canva, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok.
