Elena Rosemond

Elena Rosemond is a native North Carolinian (Durham), a mom (two small-ish kids), an educator (Montessori pre-school and adjunct college professor), and a photographer (these days mostly birds). She has her BFA in photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her Masters in Arts of Montessori Leadership from Sarasota University.

Elena is honored and excited to serve on the board of the LGBTQ Center of the Cape Fear Coast. As a mom and teacher she feels passionately about supporting LGBTQIA+ youth and their families in and out of schools. As a queer adult who was once a queer teenager in North Carolina (a confusing thing to be in the early 2000s) she is proud of the Wilmington LGBTIA+ community and the work that the center does to build this community.

Outside of work Elena can be found camping (sometimes with her family, sometimes with the birds), in and on the water, running, and reading (mostly smut but lately lesbians in space).
