Hello friends!
Happy Pride month! I am thrilled to be joining the Frank Harr Foundation as Executive Director during the month of June.
I strongly believe in the mission of this organization, but as a queer person this work is also deeply personal for me. It is up to us to claim our space, to welcome each other, and to ensure justice for our community. There are still too many folks who live in fear, who don’t have the resources they need, or who don’t know we’re here to provide support. We can change that, and I know we are up to the challenge.
This is a time of big transitions for the organization and the world, but I believe that the possibilities for the Frank Harr Foundation to grow and thrive are unlimited. From showcasing the AIDS Memorial Quilt to hosting Queer Prom and beyond, there are numerous opportunities for us to strengthen our community, educate folks, and advocate for- and win- what we need to thrive. Much of the groundwork has already been laid by Shelly, the Board, and the fantastic interns and volunteers who give their time, energy, and resources. Thanks y’all!
Please reach out or stop by soon and say hello. I look forward to meeting you all and hearing your stories! I hope you’ll join me in envisioning and building a bold, inclusive future for us all to live, love, and thrive as our full selves in the Cape Fear region and beyond.
Best,
Caroline Morin-Gage, she/they
